Whittlesea | Sport

The natural environment is one of Whittlesea’s greatest draw cards.

Gaze over fields at giant gum trees, reminders of the long history of our country, and pass paddocks full of cows as you traverse the roads of the region. Kinglake National Park is criss-crossed with bike trails and hiking tracks that will take you through some of the most beautiful forest landscapes in the country. Come together with the family and friends at Toorourrong Reservoir for a scenic walk through the tranquil reserve or visit Blue Lake in Yellow Gum Park, a beloved swimming hole for locals and tourists where everyone is welcome.

Cycling trails have been created throughout the region which meet up with the Metropolitan ring Road trail. The Darebin Creek Trail connects up with Merri Creek trail and leads to the city. For those who don’t want to travel far on two wheels, try the Yan Yean reservoir trail.
