The 2020 exhibition, New Futures, invited artists to reflect on changes brought by COVID-19 to our community, our country and our planet.
Artworks will be exhibited in The Great Hall, Council Offices, South Morang from 10am – 4pm weekdays from Thursday 21 January – 18 February 2021.
The exhibition showcases and celebrates the work of artists who live, work or are connected to the City of Whittlesea. It is a fully accessible exhibition providing a space for local artists to exhibit and promote their work.
This year’s theme invited artists to recognise the changes Covid-19 brought on our community, our country and our planet. As restrictions lift and we emerge, we can reset our priorities, refocus our intentions and re-design the world we want to live in.
Artists are innovators capable of imagining a whole new world.
This exhibition has been an opportunity for artists to formulate their creative ideas about prioritising and reimagining our new shared futures.
There will be no public launch but the exhibition will be free for anyone to view over these four weeks. COVIDSafe plans are in place to keep us all safe and a gallery attendant will ensure visitor numbers are limited to allowable levels at all times.
