Sometimes it takes a long time to arrive at where you started. “I should have done this 30 years ago,” Brian Cadd smiles when he reveals details of his brand-new album, Dream Train.
Brian Cadd was a country-rock pioneer in Australia. A member of Axiom, Australia’s first country-rock supergroup, he then had the solo smash ‘Let Go’, a country classic that became his most recorded song – covered by more than 60 artists around the world. Brian later lived in Nashville, the country music capital of the world, where he had his own studio and wrote hits for artists such as the Charlie Daniels Band. And he was a member of the legendary American country-rock band The Flying Burrito Brothers.
In 2007, Brian was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame. And in 2018, he became a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his significant service to the music industry. Brian appreciates the accolades, but it’s on stage where he feels most at home. He’s itching to play all his hits as well as the new songs live. “It’s a real addiction,” he smiles. “I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t do it – I can’t play golf and I can’t fish.”
This powerhouse singer and piano player still rocks in today’s retro-pumped music business and is as energised and creative as ever.
