Putting Whittlesea on the Map

Whittlesea Tourism is proud to announce the launch of the interactive mapping and self guided itinerary building tool on its website. We know it will inspire you to create fun-filled days when you are exploring this region. We have mapped over 100 places to eat, drink, shop and play in Whittlesea.
How do you use the mapping tool?
The interactive mapping tool is simple to use and makes creating an itinerary really fast and fun. On your desktop, simply hover your mouse over one of the icons and the details of that attraction will appear on your screen. If you’re using the map on a mobile device, just press the icon and all the details will pop up.
Whether you’re looking for accommodation, planning a foodie tour or a shopping trip, wanting an outdoor adventure or a fun day out for the whole family, the map has all the information you need in one place.
How to build an itinerary
If you’re keen to visit the Laurimar Skate Park with your kids or your friends, the mapping tool can give you directions. You can discover which cafes and restaurants are around by using the buttons which alert you to locations that are within 5, 15 or 30 minutes walk or drive. Depending on the time of day, you might want to have beef brisket or Canadian eggs for brunch at Appret Cafe, choose a classic Italian pizza at La Porchetta, or visit the Must Bar for tapas and the house speciality, sticky wings.
Do you and your mates love road trips? Create a dream day using the itinerary builder. Pack your picnic baskets, pull on your hiking boots and get set for an outdoor adventure. Start by driving out to Mason’s Falls in Kinglake West to get some fresh air and see the water cascading down the rocks. Hike one of the many bush tracks and work up an appetite. If eating out in nature is not your thing, head back into town for fresh bread, pies, sausage rolls and baked treats at Whittlesea Bakehouse or make a reservation at Corner of Thai and order a curry, a stir fry or a Pad Thai made with their secret recipe.

What to do once your itinerary is created
Once you’ve decided where you’re going the mapping tool makes it super easy to create an itinerary for a self-guided tour.
Once you’ve added all the destinations to your list, view the saved list. You can re-order your selections by moving the boxes around in the side panel. When you are happy with the itinerary, you can email it to yourself, scan the QR code with your phone camera or QR reader, or download and print your route.
